Day 1: Arrive KIA, fly to the Serengeti, first game drive
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and be met and greeted by our expert team that welcomes you, assists with bags, and checks you in for your light aircraft flight to the Serengeti. You land on a bush airstrip where the horizon looks endless. Meet your guide, take a short drive to your safari camp with a game-viewing route en route, enjoy lunch, then head out for your first afternoon game drive.

Day 2: Full day Serengeti, picnic under an acacia

Day 3: Serengeti to Ngorongoro, crater rim hush
Enjoy a morning game drive as you exit the Serengeti. The road climbs into high country as you approach the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Check in on the rim and breathe cooler air. Look out for the drastic change in the crater views as clouds slide, lift, and reveal the bowl below.
After the encounter with altitude and that wide amphitheater, you shall embark on a cozy evening by the fireplace. You later in the afternoon descend the magnificent Ngorongoro crater for an impressive wildlife viewing, sip something warm, and sleep with the sense that a compact wildlife wonder. Is seven days enough for this route?
Yes. You capture the Serengeti’s essence, see Ngorongoro at its best, and decompress on Zanzibar without feeling rushed. Smart flight timing keeps the pace smooth.
When is the best time to travel?
You enjoy strong wildlife year-round. July to October favors migration in northern Serengeti. January to March suits southern Serengeti calving and great predator action. Zanzibar stays warm most months, with short rains in November and long rains in April to May.
How long are flights and transfers?
KIA to Serengeti by light aircraft runs about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on routing. Serengeti to Ngorongoro is a scenic drive with a game-viewing exit. Arusha to Zanzibar takes about 1 to 1.5 hours.
Can you switch one beach night to Stone Town?
Yes. Add a Stone Town night on Day 6, then finish with two beach nights. We keep the same lodging pairs for consistency.
What vehicle and guide will you get on safari?
A private 4×4 Land Cruiser with a pop-up roof. Your guide sets the pace to your interests, from photography angles to birding stops. You decide how long to stay at each sighting.
What should you pack for a week?
Neutral layers, a warm fleece for crater mornings, sun hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, insect repellent, comfortable shoes, a soft sided bag, swimwear, and a camera with spare cards. Add a light cover up for the beach and a small daypack for flights.
